Production Supervisor
Weyerhaeuser Company is currently recruiting a ProductionSupervisor for our Evergreen Engineered Lumber Product (ELP) manufacturingfacility located in Castleberry, AL. This is a salaried (exempt) first-line supervisory position reporting tothe Operations Manager. The Supervisoris responsible for the safety, production, and quality goals of a productioncrew in an engineered wood facility. TheProduction Supervisor provides direct leadership to a team of hourlyemployees. He/she must be committed toleading continuous improvement in safety, cost management, process improvement,plant scheduling, production flows, staffing, and housekeeping.
Key Functions:
Provide daily leadership and oversight of hourlyproduction employees
Ensure the safe and efficient execution of work
Ensure proper job and safety rules are understood by teamand followed
Role model safe work practices and lead safety and otherteam meetings
Ensure appropriate incident investigation and follow-upresolution
Project needs and balance labor resources to ensurecontinuous improvement in safety, quality, and production
On board and train new team members
Set performance expectations for team that directlysupports mill goals
Support, coach, and provide timely feedback and directionto associates
Participate in unit initiatives and other assignments asrequired
Understand the process flow and provide solutions toissues
Coordinate activities with maintenance team and proactivelycollaborate to address concerns
Bachelor's Degree required, in areas such as Wood Science, WoodTechnology, Engineering or Business (preferred)
Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience in anindustrial environment
Strong leadership skills with the ability to understandand support the site vision, strategy, goals and targets
Strong decision making and problem solving skills
Collaborative and inclusive leadership style
Understands production metrics
Ability to identify issues and effectively initiatecorrective actions to prevent recurrence
Must have strong interpersonal, team building, problemsolving and written and verbal communication skills
Ability to plan, lead and execute day to day production activities,time management skills
Must be willing to work production schedule as needed bythe business (i.e., shifts, weekends and holidays).
Must be computer literate with experience in Microsoft Office program suite.
Ability to meet the physical demands of working in amanufacturing environment, to include working in extreme temperatures
